Katy (Texas) Tompkins three-star safety Caleb Komolafe announced his commitment to Northwestern on Thursday. He chose the Wildcats after an official visit to the program last weekend.

Komolafe is the No. 1,505 overall prospect and No. 141 safety in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 246 player in Texas.

On3 rates Komolafe higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Komolafe is the No. 116 safety and No. 243 player in Texas.

Following Komolafe’s pledge, Northwestern has commitments from three safeties. The others are Bolingbrook (Ill.) three-star Damon Walters and Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger three-star Jacob Lewis.

The Wildcats’ 2023 recruiting class is currently No. 33 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 6 in the Big Ten. Northwestern’s highest-ranked pledge is Dayton (Ohio) Northmont four-star linebacker Nigel Glover, the No. 174 overall prospect in the 2023 On300.

The 6-foot-0, 180-pound defensive back has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
