Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic three-star interior offensive lineman Marc Nave has announced his decommitment from Ohio State.

Nave initially committed to the Buckeyes back in March.

“I just wanted to inform everyone that I have decommitted from OSU,” Nave said in a statement on social media. “I want to thank everyone involved. I feel as if I rushed this process and I’ve prayed on it and it is God’s plan not mine. I want to thank you all and I wish nothing but the best for your program going forward. Thanks be to God.”

Nave is the nation’s No. 617 overall prospect and No. 51 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 25 player in Ohio.

Nave does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Ohio State still holds No. 2 class

Despite Nave’s decommitment, Ohio State still holds the No. 2 class in the 2024 cycle, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Buckeyes have commitments from more five-star prospects than any other school in Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, Chicago St. Ignatius five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott, New Haven (Ind.) five-star receiver Mylan Graham, Buford (Ga.) five-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston and Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes five-star quarterback Air Noland headline Ohio State’s class.

Additional top-100 commits include Springfield (Ohio) four-star cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., Cleveland Glenville four-star cornerback Bryce West, St. Louis Christian Brothers wideout Jeremiah McClellan and San Antonio Veterans Memorial four-star running back James Peoples.
