Miami Gardens (Fla.) American Heritage wide receiver Brandon Inniss is one of the most prized receiver prospects in the country. Miami, USC, Florida, Alabama and Oklahoma are among the numerous teams pursuing him. As is Ohio State, which has developed a major reputation for producing elite receiving talent.

Inniss announced Tuesday afternoon that he’ll visit the Buckeyes on April 2 for an unofficial visit.

The 6-foot, 189-pounder is the No. 25 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He checks in as the nation’s No. 4 receiver and the No. 6 junior prospect in Florida.

Inniss was previously committed to Oklahoma, alongside Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson and elite receivers Makai Lemon and DeAndre Moore. But following Lincoln Riley’s departure for USC, Inniss reopened his recruitment.

The Trojans are one of a number of schools in the mix, along with Miami, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, and Oklahoma. He recently visited the Hurricanes for their Elite Prospect Day and came away impressed.

“Miami is definitely in a better place with me right now,” Inniss told On3. “I feel like it is different there, and Coach Cristobal and his staff will get the job done.”

Ohio State pushing for Brandon Inniss

Inniss has previously visited Ohio State — back in June 2021 — but already knew he was planning to later commit to Oklahoma, according to Lettermen Row. But the two sides have been getting to know each other, and the Buckeyes have been ramping up their pursuit of him.

Inniss also has spring visits planned for USC, Georgia, and Alabama, but Ohio State and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline are right in the mix.

“I always have my ears open when coaches talk,” Inniss said. “But yeah it’s hard not to know everything he’s done. He did what we’re trying to do. He’s been through college and spent his time in the NFL. That’s where I want to be so I know [Hartline] could help get me there.”
