During Saturday’s broadcast of the Ohio State Buckeyes spring game, Jenny Taft caught up with star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.

He opted to come back to Columbus instead of heading to the NFL. Speaking with Taft, the pass catcher explained what went into that decision for Egbuka regarding his future.

“Coming out of the year last year, I was really 50/50 about what I was going to do,” Egbuka said. “I just went to the Lord for it. I was just continually in prayer. Being back here, it’s a dream come true. I’m happy to be a part of this special group.”

One person who was elated with Egbuka coming back was offensive assistant Brian Hartline. Speaking with FOX’s Joel Klatt, Hartline elaborated on what it means for Egbuka to return and lead the group in 2024.

“Yeah, Emeka coming back says a lot,” Hartline added. “Him wanting to be here. He’s already graduated, so it wasn’t about graduating. It was just unfinished business. He wanted to lead this group. He wanted it to be his room. It just says a lot about the room, the coaching culture in the locker room, and really a lot about him and his family.

“So I’m — we’re blessed to have him back. He’s excited to lead this room, and with his leadership, we’ll be alright.”

Ohio State is elated to have Emeka Egbuka back for 2024, and the wide receiver will be hoping to give his 2025 NFL Draft stock a shot in the arm as the lead dog on the Buckeyes receiving corps this coming season.

Ohio State announces attendance of 80,112 for spring game, highest since 2017

As they usually do, the fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes came out in droves for their spring game on Saturday afternoon.

It was a beautiful day, and FOX was broadcasting all of the action. Among all the pomp and circumstance, Ohio State announced an attendance of 80,112, which is the highest for the Buckeyes since 2017.

“Ohio State spring game announced attendance of 80,112 is the highest since Buckeyes drew 80,134 in 2017,” Marcus Hartman of Dayton Daily News posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Ohio State has had announced crowd of at least 80k for spring game 6 times since 2009.”

That’s a testament to the strength of the Ohio State fanbase. What an afternoon it is in Columbus, which they’re hoping is a prelude to continued success in 2024.
