Class of 2023 linebacker Nigel Glover of Dayton (OH) announced his transfer portal commitment to Ohio State Tuesday night.

The 6-foot-3, 220 pounder was the highest-ranked player in Northwestern’s 2023 class. He will be immediately eligible.

Glover on why he chose Ohio State

“The standard to be the best and the devolvement at Ohio State stand out to me. As well does opportunity to learn from Coach Knowles, Coach Laurinaitis, and Coach Sam.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“I’ve know Coach Knowles for a while now and have much respect for him. He is a Coach that I trust and want to play for. I see myself developing well under his coaching and defensive scheme. They plan on using me as a linebacker at the will position.”

Scouting Summary

“Aggressive, physical back-half defender who projects as a linebacker at the college level. Measured at 6-foot-2.5, 205 pounds prior to his junior season. Tests as a good athlete with an electronically-timed 4.79 second 40-yard dash. Plays both safety and linebacker for his high school. A physical downhill defender with considerable pop on contact. Has the striking power to level ball carriers. Plays fast and with a high effort level as a pursuit defender. Experience playing in space as a safety helps bolster his cover skills, which he has backed up in the camp setting. Also plays baseball. Does not have ideal length for the position with a 6-foot-3.2 wing-span.”

Glover ranked as the No. 306 player in the 2023 On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 31 linebacker and the No. 10 player in the state of Ohio.

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
