Ohio Bobcats transfer Will Kacmarek commits to Ohio State
In a state college swap, former Ohio Bobcat tight end Will Kacmarek has decided to transfer to Ohio State for the 2024 season.
Kacmarek spent three totals years in Athens and played in just two seasons, putting up strong production for a tight end in 2022 and 2023. This fall, he recorded 243 receiving yards at just over 10 a catch on 22 total grabs, two of which ended in touchdowns, the only pair of his career. in 2022, Kacmarek tallied 264 yards on 20 catches.
Back in high school, Kacmarek played for the Mary Institute & St Louis Country Day in St. Louis, Missouri, where he graduated in 2021 and joined Ohio as an unranked recruit. As of next fall, he’ll be taking snaps for one of college football’s most historic powerhouses.
With the departure of Cade Stover on the horizon, tight end was a spot of need for Ohio State. Whether it was a younger player stepping up or a transfer, the Buckeyes went into 2024 needing a new playmaker there. Kacmarek may not be a star but he’ll provide some experience and ability.
