Former Ohio State senior defensive back Marcus Williamson did not make the trip to the Rose Bowl. He officially retired his college football career before the game and decided to stay at home and rip people with reckless abandon on his Twitter account.

The former Buckeyes‘ defensive back did not hold back in ripping the Ohio State fan base and coaches. “Now that I’m a fan, I gotta say….u fans know nothing and have some of the WORST football IQ ever,” he wrote on Twitter.

He then had a warning for future recruits at Ohio State. “RECRUITS: watch out for a lotta these coaches. this can be a shitty business w shitty individuals. Use wisdom and discernment when visiting schools,” he wrote on his Twitter page.

He didn’t have good things to say about the Ohio State coaches either, “Almost as bad as some of these coaches,” he wrote on Twitter.

“I didn’t make the trip. Figured I’d enjoy my holiday watch sum good ball. Self care fellas,” he said.

The former Buckeye defensive back let fans know that he is officially retired from college football, “I retired y’all & no I didn’t quit at halftime like Vontae Davis,” he wrote on Twitter.

He began his live-tweeting spree by starting off and writing, “Praying 12 & 32 are okay. These injuries can be so detrimental to these athletes,” he wrote on Twitter.

The former Ohio State defensive back also was pretty furious with the Buckeyes’ defensive performance in the first half. “How do we give up 35 in the first half?” he asked.

Williamson had a disappointing end to his career at Ohio State

He played in 46 career games for Ohio State, recording 68 tackles with two forced fumbles. He played in 12 games for the Buckeyes this year. Injuries and the emergence of Denzel Burke reduced Williamson’s role in the defense this season.

On3’s Jeremy Birmingham wrote an in-depth article a few months ago about how Williamson showed humility in battling through the ups and downs of his career for the Buckeyes.

Williamson’s situation is a wise lesson for any players that have any issues with their previous school. It’s better just to air a lot of those grievances in private. Ruining their relationships with the school and their coaches just isn’t worth it.
