The Senior Bowl practices have been going on this week in Mobile, Alabama and a few players from Ohio State are participating in the practices/game. Former Ohio State defensive tackle Haskell Garrett injured his shoulder today in a one-on-one drill with Michigan’s Andrew Stueber.

After the injury, he was down on the ground for a few minutes and grabbed his shoulder. There wasn’t anything malicious on the play from Stueber, it was really just a routine one-on-one drill.

Stueber took Garrett to the ground at the end of the play and landed on his shoulder. Trainers immediately came over to the former Ohio State defensive lineman and helped him off the field a few minutes later.

Watch the play below.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl game will be played on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2:30 PM EST on NFL Network.

Garrett’s height and weight measurements at the Senior Bowl were: 6-foot-1, 298-pounds. Two of his Ohio State teammates are in Mobile with him, tight end Jeremy Ruckert, and defensive lineman Tyreke Smith.

There’s not a ton of footage of Garrett in drills this week online, but there was this clip of him beating Oklahoma’s Marquis Hayes in a one-on-one drill on Tuesday.

Garrett turned himself into one of the best pass rushers on one of the nation’s best defensive line units this year for the Buckeyes. During the 2021-2022 season, he racked up 22 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one touchdown.

The big man had a scoop and score against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Watch it below.

Garrett has an inspirational story

Garrett has an inspirational story beyond the football field–he survived gunshot wounds in late August of 2020 after he was trying to break up a fight. During the 2020-2021 season, he went on to earn first team All-American honors.

Coming out of high school, Garrett was a top 50 overall prospect for the powerhouse program of Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nevada). He was also named a U.S. Army All-American.
