Baltimore St. Frances Academy four-star cornerback Blake Woodby has committed to Ohio State.

He chose the Buckeyes over Alabama, Clemson, Oregon and Tennessee.

Woodby is the No. 91 overall prospect and No. 9 CB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Maryland.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder was in Columbus for a game visit on Oct. 7, his third trip in 2023. He was also on campus at the end of March and the beginning of June. Secondary coach Tim Walton and safeties coach Perry Eliano led Ohio State’s recruitment of the DB.

“Ohio State was my dream school when I started playing corner. There’s nothing like the block O,” Woodby told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Woodby has an On3 NIL Valuation of $62K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Woodby adds second blue-chip pledge to Buckeyes’ 2025 class

The addition of Woodby makes three commits in total for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes in the 2025 cycle. He joins Bellefontaine (Ohio) four-star QB Tavien St. Clair and Cocoa (Fla.) three-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs.

“Ohio State is everything I was hoping it to be and even more,” Woodby told Lettermen Row. “Sometimes when you’re going through the recruiting process you hear the same thing from every coach, but it wasn’t like that when I got into contact with Coach Walton.”

St. Clair is the No. 103 overall prospect and No. 8 signal-caller in the cycle. He committed to OSU on June 21 and now sits atop the Buckeyes’ class alongside Woodby.

“The tradition, the quarterback development,” St. Clair said upon his commitment. “Just what’s gonna put me in the best position to go to the NFL.”

Ohio State’s 2025 class now ranks No. 7 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. The Buckeyes are currently rounding out a 2024 class that ranks No. 2, behind only Georgia. OSU has nine top-100 prospects committed this cycle, including Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Five-Star Plus+ WR Jeremiah Smith, the No. 1 recruit in the class.
