Ohio State saw the return of one of their threats on the outside this past Saturday in senior wideout Kamryn Babb. Babb missed much of the season as he recovered from an injury suffered in the off-season. Recently, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day assessed the potential of Babb down the final stretch of Ohio State’s season.

“We’ll see what he’ll be able to do physically, thank, on a regular basis,” said Day. “And if he can take on more, then absolutely, we’ll give it to him. We’ll just have to see how much his body will be willing to take on… I know that the setback in the preseason set him back some. We’ll see how much you’ll be able to take on moving forward. I hope it will be a lot, but I just don’t know.

“Very conscientious, very smart, and understands the game. Strong and powerful, and explosive. Good hands, runs really excellent routes. Very accountable, good quickness in and out of his breaks, really good body language. I know CJ (Stroud) like throwing to him.”

Babb is still making his way back slowly but surely. In Saturday’s 56-14 victory over Indiana, the senior from St. Louis, MO, recorded one catch for eight yards. As he continues to make his way back into game form, expect for those numbers to increase for Babb.

Ryan Day says Ohio State is undecided on players using extra eligibility

The regular season ends in less than two weeks and college football coaches are going to turn their minds (somewhat) from scheming on the field to managing the roster. But Ohio State head coach Ryan Day isn’t getting to that headspace now.

The conversations with players who could come back will happen, Day said ahead of the Buckeyes penultimate game against Maryland, but after the season. Ohio State is 10-0 and has plenty of big goals still to attain.

“We haven’t had final decisions on that,” Day said. “We talk to the guys — we’ll get through the season and then we’ll start to have more conversations about what comes for next year.”
