Devin Brown is one of the nation’s most decorated high school football players.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound four-star Ohio State commit is ranked as the No. 6 quarterback in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

But Brown showed on Sunday that he’s not too shabby on the hardwood, too. A tweet of him doing a windmill dunk has quickly gone viral with Buckeye fans.

During his junior season at Queen Creek High School, Brown averaged 19 minutes, 3.6 points and 4.4 rebounds a game in basketball.

Before transferring to Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon for his senior season, Devin Brown started his high school career at Queen Creek in Arizona.

As a sophomore, he led Queen Creek to the Class 6A state semifinals after becoming eligible halfway through the season.

Then as a junior, he led the team to a 6-3 record and a first-round playoff appearance. Brown said he made the move to Corner Canyon for his senior season for a “private family matter.”

Brown was mentored by former NFL quarterback Joe Germaine, who left Queen Creek to coach his alma mater, Mesa Mountain View.

Brown’s father, Andrew Brown, went to school at BYU. His mother, Tammy Brown, went to school at Utah State.

Devin Brown ideal fit in Ohio State’s offense

Charles Power, On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings, believes Devin Brown is the perfect fit for the Ohio State system. In a story he wrote three days ago, Power outlined why his arm talent stretches the field.

As a senior, Brown completed 254 of 372 passes (68.3%) for 4,881 yards and 57 touchdowns with 14 interceptions. He also rushed for 430 yards and eight more scores. The 4,881 passing yards broke the Utah single-season record.

Devin Brown’s season came to an end on Nov. 19 in a heart-breaking 49-42 loss in the state championship. The blue-chip passer played very well in the game, completing 22 of 28 passes for 386 yards, four touchdowns and one tipped interception. He also ran the most of any game to date, rushing for 103 yards and another touchdown.
