Four-star David Castillo took his first official visit this weekend. The Bartlesville (OK) High junior took the two hour trip up the road to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to take in the sights and sounds at Oklahoma State.

“Going on top of the stadium for my pictures was pretty crazy,” Castillo told On3. “That was probably the most memorable part for me.”

The 6-foot-1 point guard was able to take in the facilities and get a real feel for what a day in the life of a student-athlete would look like.

“Everything with the facilities was close together,” Castillo said. “You can go to the gym, lift, and study all in one building which I thought was pretty cool.”

Castillo averaged 24.7 points as a sophomore after averaging 23.7 points as a high school freshman. The four-star averaged 10.7 points this summer for the gold-medal winning u17 USA Basketball team this summer. He averaged 12.8 points, playing up for Team Griffin on Nike’s EYBL 17u Circuit; he shot 36.8 percent from three this summer.

Looking ahead, David Castillo says he does not have any other official visits set yet, but he does have some schools he wants to see more of.

“I have a couple unofficial I’m looking to go on,” Castillo said. “Kansas State (Oct. 29), Ole Miss (Nov. 12), Gonzaga (Nov. 20), and probably a couple of others.”
