Oklahoma State’s Bryce Williams will be a game-time decision for Saturday’s game against Oklahoma, per Cowboys head coach Mike Boynton via Jon Rothstein on Twitter.

Williams sprained his ankle against TCU on Jan. 19, and has not suited up since. He was in a boot and on crutches in Austin on as his team dropped a close one to Texas 56-51 three days later and their overtime loss to Iowa State that next week.

The Cowboys guard was set to go through shoot around last Saturday against Florida and was deemed a game-time decision, but was not healthy enough to go. Florida beat Oklahoma State 81-72 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge without Williams.

Based on how he feels, Boynton will decide whether or not his star guard is ready to go. If he is, it will likely be on a minutes restriction for Saturday, at least.

“I think it was encouraging that he was able to go through shootaround the other day, then he was actually able to practice with contact [on Thursday],” Boynton said of Williams. “So, we’ll see here this morning what he can do and hopefully keep making progress. I think if he makes significant progress the way he has over the past two days, then I think he’ll be available to us tomorrow.”

Williams not only leads the Cowboys in scoring (10.8 points per game), he also leads his team in assists with 3.3 per outing. He is also second on the team in steals (28) and assists (49). Williams has scored in double-figures eight times thus far in his fifth collegiate season, including a career-high 29 points against Cleveland State on Dec. 13. He scored 11 points against Texas in Stillwater on Jan. 8, and had a 12-point performance against West Virginia in their next outing.

Without Williams in the lineup, Oklahoma State has lost their last four games, including a 71-68 loss to Kansas State on the road. There’s no better opportunity to get back on track with a win at home against your rival.

Oklahoma State tips off against Oklahoma at noon ET on ESPN2.

“No, it’s already the most important game on the schedule, I don’t know if it can become more important than that,” said head coach Mike Boynton. “So, no, but there’s a high sense of urgency around our program and all that goes into preparing for a game against our rival and a really good team.”
