2024 Vancouver (Wash.) Evergreen offensive tackle Fox Crader has known for some time that he wanted to be an Oregon Duck.

But he solidified it on Monday, announcing for Oregon over the likes of Oregon State, Washington, USC, Miami and a handful of other programs.

“I made this decision with my family and coaches this last week, but I’ve known for a while now that I’m going to Oregon,” he told On3. “I love everything Oregon. From the staff to the fans to the Nike brand. I moved here from Texas and I’ve grown up around Duck fans my whole life. Oregon has built an amazing culture. I committed to Oregon because I want to be a part of that culture.”

A big part of his decision was his relationship with the Ducks’ coaching staff, including offensive line coach Adrian Klemm. The two have built a strong connection from their first conversation, and Crader believes Klemm can develop him at the highest level.

“Coach Klemm is outstanding,” he said. “He has done amazing things for the Oregon program already in the short time he’s been there. He’s an incredible mentor and O-line coach. Being coached by him before, I can truly see myself getting the most out of being an O-lineman from him. He’s always made it feel like home at Oregon and I have a tremendous amount of respect for him.”

Fox Crader believes in what Dan Lanning is building

While Crader was considering a number of other schools, but he kept coming back to the opportunity to stay close to home and help the Ducks succeed. He loves the environment in Eugene, as well as what he sees from first-year head coach Dan Lanning.

When Oregon extended him an offer in September, it set the tone for his recruitment.

“Coach Lanning is incredible,” Crader added. “Seeing how he treats his players and staff makes me want to be a part of that. He is building something really special. He is already an excellent head coach, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for him, the staff and team. It’s been a privilege to watch first hand how things go down at The University of Oregon.”

Crader is the No. 146 overall prospect in the 2024 On300 rankings, checking in as the nation’s No. 12 offensive tackle and No. 3 junior recruit in Washington.
