Mesa (Ariz.) Red Mountain four-star wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane was in Eugene today for Oregon’s Saturday Night Live camp. He finished the night by earning an offer from the Ducks.

Lane is the No. 373 overall prospect and No. 51 wide receiver in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 9 player in Arizona.

On3‘s rankings rate him even higher as the No. 287 overall prospect, No. 41 wide receiver and No. 6 player in Arizona.

Lane has received more than 10 offers from programs including Texas A&M, Auburn and Utah. His offer from the Aggies came earlier today. In addition to his unofficial visit to Oregon, he has taken unofficials to Colorado State and Kansas State.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Ducks are heavily favored to land his commitment at 93.2%. Colorado State and Kansas State have the next-highest odds at 4.5% and 1.4%, respectively.

Before the Oregon offer, Colorado State had the lead for Lane’s pledge at 66.8%, while Kansas State had the next best odds for the 6-foot-5, 180 pound wideout at 20.8%. Now both are at less than 5% per the RPM.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Lane has an On3 NIL Valuation of $22K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Ja’Kobi Lane On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Ja’Kobi Lane:

“Jump ball fiend who is an absolute menace when it comes to 50-50 balls. Long and lean athletic build with plenty of room to grow. Stands in at 6-foot-4, over 170 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan. Jumped a freaky 34-inch vertical for his size during the spring camp circuit prior to his junior season. Body positioning and balance is second to none compared to other X-type receivers in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Natural pass catcher who has strong hands and plucks the ball with ease. Totaled 76 catches for 990 yards and 14 touchdowns during his junior campaign. Solid twitch for his size, can get off the line of scrimmage. Lacks top end speed in order to separate from defenders when pushing vertically. Will be a significant redzone threat at the next level and can see his NFL stock rise as he gets stronger and more explosive with a collegiate strength and conditioning program.”
