Zephyrhills (Fla.) five-star safety DJ Pickett is visiting Oregon this weekend. The news was reported by On3’s Chad Simmons.

Pickett is the No. 7 overall prospect and No. 1 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Florida.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound defensive back holds nearly 50 offers. He already knows what will be important in his eventual decision.

“How I am going to be on and off the field,” Pickett told On3’s Chad Simmons on April 12. “Are they going to make me a better player? If I feel comfortable there is important too.”

The Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class currently contains two prospects. They are Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Bay Tech four-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson and Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie three-star interior offensive lineman Sandman Thompson.

Pickett previously told Simmons that three programs had his early attention: FloridaGeorgia and Michigan. Each school has hosted Miller for at least one unofficial visit this month.

“They develop players,” Pickett said. “They are recruiting me hard. All three have a lot that I like.”

Pickett discusses his interest in Florida, Georgia and Michigan

Florida: “(Corey Raymond) knows what it takes to get to the NFL. I feel like he can take me to the next level.”

“He’s phenomenal,” he also shared about Raymond with Keith Niebuhr of Gators Online on June 21. “He’s been talking to my dad, getting that bond right… (Raymond’s track record) is pretty big, because I want to be developed, and my goal is to get to the NFL. And I feel like (Raymond) can prepare me for that.”

Georgia: “I feel like if I go there, I’m gonna get everybody’s best and then, they’re just gonna make me better.”

“Their practices, it’s like non-stop,” he added. “They’re on to the next every time they get done with something. They’re just competitive in their practices and I like how the coaches coach them up.”

Michigan: “I like coach (Steve Clinkscale). That’s my guy. Every time I step on campus, I feel comfortable and I feel like one of the guys there already.”

“I like what they’re doing there,” he added. “You can definitely tell that they’re getting better each and every year. They’re gonna continue to get better, so that’s a big part.”
