Duke defensive back Brandon Johnson has committed to Oregon out of the NCAA transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday afternoon.

Johnson was a multi-year starter for the Blue Devils in the secondary. He recorded 56 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and four pass breakups during the 2023 season. While his play was not enough to land him on an All-ACC team, he did earn honorable mentions from the conference.

He’ll help bolster an Oregon secondary that will be looking to elevate its play ahead of a potential playoff run in 2024.

Prior to enrolling at Duke, Johnson played high school football at Newton (NC) Newton-Conover, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,279 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
