Oregon is trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to land the commitment of Orem (Utah) three-star tight end Roger Saleapaga.

Oregon recruiting insider Justin Hopkins and Auburn recruiting insider Cole Pinkston both logged expert predictions in favor of the Ducks this week, at 70% and 50% respectively. Oregon holds a 93.2% likelihood of receiving Saleapaga’s commitment.

“It was great,” Saleapaga told On3 about his May visit to Eugene. “All great people, and really getting to sit down and talk to them and go over the plan that they have for me at Oregon and what they want to see from me this season.

“We got to spend some time and just talk about life, and talk football and share a laugh.”

Saleapaga is the nation’s No. 434 overall prospect and No. 25 tight end in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Utah.

Saleapaga does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Buzz on Saleapaga recruitment

On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons had the following to say about Saleapaga’s recruitment:

“It is about to get very busy for Roger Saleapaga,” Simmons wrote. “On Oct. 28, he will take an official visit to Utah. That will start a run of five official visits in five weeks. After Utah, the three-star tight end out of Orem (Utah) will visit Colorado, Oregon, Tennessee and Auburn. After the visit for the Iron Bowl, Saleapaga plans to take the next week to make his decision, then make his decision on or around Dec. 1. Heading into these visits, the buzz is around the Ducks.

“He has visited Eugene multiple times, including a trip back for the Colorado game last month. Orem has a history with Oregon after sending Noah Sewell (2020) and Kingsley Suamataia (2021) to the soon-to-be Big Ten program. The SEC intrigues Saleapaga too. Then you have Utah, a school he knows extremely well with it being so close to home. Deion Sanders’ program looks to have the most ground to make up. Saleapaga has yet to visit Boulder.”
