Oregon is paying tribute to late tight end Spencer Webb on Thursday. The Ducks provided information and the link to a live-stream of his celebration of life.

Oregon is hosting the celebration Thursday night at 6 p.m. PT at the Autzen Stadium Club. The event will be streamed live on YouTube for fans and anyone else who can’t make it in-person.

Webb passed away last week in a cliff-diving accident outside Eugene at the age of 22. He was preparing for his redshirt junior season with Oregon after totaling 13 receptions, 87 yards and one touchdown in 2021. He joined the Ducks in 2018, but redshirted that season and then only played one game due to injury during the COVID-19-impacted 2020 campaign.

Webb, a Sacramento, California native, was gearing up to compete for a big role on a new-look Oregon team. Former Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning took over for Mario Cristobal as head coach after he left for Miami, and Kenny Dillingham came in as offensive coordinator from Florida State.

Mario Cristobal unable to attend Spencer Webb’s celebration of life due to flight issues

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal’s ACC Media Days appearance was strategically slotted at 9:45 a.m. Thursday by the ACC to allow him to attend his former player and Oregon tight end Spencer Webb‘s celebration of life event Thursday evening in Eugene, Oregon. But, unfortunately, an issue with the plane kept Cristobal from making the trip.

Webb died July 13 after falling at a local lake in Oregon. The 22 year old was a beloved member of the football team and Eugene community.

According to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, however, Cristobal’s flight was cancelled due to “mechanical issues,” and the new Miami head coach won’t be able to make it in time. Both Webb and Cristobal arrived in Eugene together in 2018.
