Oregon notched its latest win on the recruiting trail when Chandler (Ariz.) four-star defensive lineman A’mauri Washington committed to the Ducks. His decision elevated Oregon’s 2023 recruiting class to No. 13 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. The Ducks, whose group also ranks No. 2 in the Pac-12, rose one spot from No. 14.

Washington is the No. 173 overall prospect and No. 21 defensive lineman in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Arizona.

On3 rates Washington higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, Washington is the No. 143 overall prospect and the No. 19 defensive lineman in the country.

Washington continues Oregon’s success on the recruiting trail

Under first-year head coach Dan Lanning, Oregon is making strides on the recruiting trail, building a class with two five-stars, eight four-stars and seven three-stars. Of those 17 commitments, seven are ranked in the top-200 of the On3 Consensus.

Washington is currently the sixth-highest-ranked recruit in the Ducks’ class. He is also the fourth defensive lineman alongside Cypress (Texas) Cy Woods four-star Terrance Green, Peoria (Ariz.) Liberty three-star My’Keil Gardner and Layton (Utah) Layton Christian Academy three-star Tevita Pome’e.

The 6-foot-2.5, 320 pound prospect is also the Ducks’ third player from Arizona. The others are Gardner and Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star athlete Cole Martin.

Since June, Oregon has landed 11 commitments. Some of the Ducks’ pledges came from blue-chip recruits, including Washington, Detroit Martin Luther King five-star quarterback Dante Moore and Sammamish (Wash.) Rainier Beach four-star cornerback Caleb Presley.

Other summer commitments for Oregon include Green, Idaho Falls (Idaho) Skyline Senior four-star athlete Kenyon Sadiq and San Antonio (Texas) William J. Brennan three-star safety Tyler Turner.

The Ducks’ group also includes Palo Alto (Calif.) Menlo-Atherton five-star wide receiver Jurrion Dickey, the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the On3 Consensus. Dickey is ranked higher by On3 in the Industry Comparison as the nation’s No. 15 overall prospect.
