One of the top tight ends in the nation will be taking a trip west this summer.

Derby (Kan.) four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame announced that he has scheduled an official visit to Oregon for June 21-23.

Brame is the nation’s No. 96 overall prospect, No. 3 tight end and No. 4 recruit in Kansas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The Ducks currently lead in Brame’s recruitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

“I am ready to name Oregon the favorite to land another playmaker on the offensive side of the ball in four-star tight end Dasaahn Brame,” On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons wrote in January. “. . . He has good relationships with the staff, he likes the fit in the offense and Oregon is setting the pace in this recruitment. Colorado, Michigan, USC and some others are high on his list too, but Lanning’s program is the one they are all chasing.”

Brame also took an unofficial visit to Eugene at the start of last month.

Ducks will have to hold off a host of other schools

In December, Brame named his top eight schools, a list that included Oregon, Tennessee, Alabama Oklahoma, Florida, Michigan, Texas A&M, and Kansas State.

“It is hard to focus on schools with 30 offers,” he added. “I was ready to narrow it down, focus on these and I plan to commit in mid-summer. It should happen during the dead period in July. I am now working to get to the finish line. I will keep going out, taking visits, talk to the players and find the best school for me.”

He has visited most all of them, but he raved about the Ducks and his relationship with tight ends coach Drew Mehringer.

“I love the staff at Oregon,” Brame told On3. “The people there is what keeps me going back. It is a cool place with good people. It is beautiful, I like the campus and the vibe is cool. I like Coach Mehringer a lot. I like his personality, he coaches his guys up and he is a developmental coach. Coach Mehringer will coach his guys, he will play freshmen and we have a strong relationship.”
