Salem (Ore.) West Salem three-star offensive tackle Trent Ferguson has announced his commitment to Oregon. He chose the Ducks over offers from Boise State, Oregon State and Washington State.

Ferguson is the No. 874 overall prospect and No. 66 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Oregon.

On3 rates Ferguson higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2024 On300, Ferguson is the No. 57 offensive tackle in the country and No. 4 player in Oregon.

The Ducks’ 2024 recruiting class contains seven players following Ferguson’s commitment. It ranks No. 10 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Pac-12.

Three of Oregon’s commits are top-150 players in Newport Beach (Calif.) Newport Harbor four-star wide receiver Jordan Anderson, Forney (Texas) four-star safety Aaron Flowers and Philadelphia (Penn.) Roman Catholic four-star wide receiver Tyseer Denmark. Meanwhile, Ferguson is the second offensive tackle pledged to head coach Dan Lanning and his staff alongside Vancouver (Wash.) Evergreen four-star Fox Crader.

Yuma (Ariz.) Yuma Catholic three-star EDGE Jaxson Jones and Medford (Ore.) North Medford three-star tight end A.J. Pugliano are the other players committed to Oregon this cycle.

Oregon hoping to notch another top-10 class

Meanwhile, the Ducks are still after many talented targets. One of them is Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope three-star quarterback Luke Moga, who is committing on April 28. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oregon has a commanding lead for his pledge at 95.0%.

“I just like those people there,” Moga told On3’s Chad Simmons on Feb. 15. “Obviously, the resources and facilities there are the best in the country. I like how down-to-earth the staff is and I’ll definitely be back soon, I think.”

Meanwhile, Oregon is hosting Bowie (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star quarterback Michael Van Buren, another one of its top quarterback targets, this weekend. Other players to visit Eugene this year include Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Lee’s Summit North five-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri (Jan. 21), Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville four-star cornerback Bryce West (March 15-17) and Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler (April 6-8).

Last cycle, Oregon’s 2023 class finished No. 8 in the 2023 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Pac-12. So far, the Ducks are bound for another top-10 group.
