Salt Lake City (Utah) Olympus defensive lineman Abraham Johnson announced his commitment to Oregon State on Thursday night. He chose the Beavers over an offer from Nevada.

Johnson is not ranked in the 2023 On3 Consensus or the 2023 On300. He is 6-foot-3 and weighs 280 pounds.

“I would love to thank my parents and family for helping me get to where I am now,” Johnson wrote in a statement published to social media. “I couldn’t have achieved my dream of D-1 football without them! Thanks to all the coaches who put their faith in me! I will spend my next years as a BEAV at Oregon State University! Go Beavs!!”

Following Johnson’s pledge, Oregon State’s 2023 recruiting class now contains 15 prospects. The group ranks No. 56 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 9 in the Pac-12.

The Beavers have commitments from two other defensive lineman alongside Johnson, who took an unofficial visit to Oregon State on June 5. They are Las Vegas (Nev.) Spring Valley four-star Kelze Howard and Clearwater (Fla.) Sweden three-star Thomas Collins.
