Philadelphia (Penn.) Roman Catholic four-star wide receiver Tyseer Denmark spurned Penn State the first time around with his commitment, instead choosing Oregon. But after decommitting from the Ducks, Denmark is staying home and has pledged to the Nittany Lions.

He was previously committed to the Ducks since September, when he chose Dan Lanning and Co. over the Nittany Lions, as well as Ohio State and others.

“What stood out to me was everything,” Denmark told Hayes Fawcett. “The culture, how tight the players are to one another. Also last but not least, coach Franklin is a rare find coach. He gives it real flat out and gonna make sure you become the best player and human for the next 40 years instead of just the 4. Lastly, what I really love about the coaches is that football isn’t the only main focus.”

The The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder is the No. 235 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 40 wide receiver and the No. 4 player in Pennsylvania.

As a junior, Denmark racked up 665 yards receiving, seven touchdown grabs and averaged 119 yards of total offense a game for Roman Catholic.

Denmark currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $68K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Penn State building towards a top-10 class

With Denmark’s pledge, Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class now has 18 commitments. The group ranks No. 10 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 4 in the Big Ten.

Denmark also becomes the fifth Pennsylvanian in this class to commit to the home-state school and gives James Franklin and Co. commitments from each of the state’s top three prospects.

Penn State’s other in-state pledges include four-star athlete Quinton Martin, four-star interior offensive lineman Cooper Cousins, three-star linebacker Anthony Speca, three-star cornerback Kenny Woseley and three-star athlete Caleb Brewer.

Martin is the highest-ranked pledge in the Nittany Lions’ class as the No. 43 player in the country. He is one 10 four-star commitments making up the class.
