Penn State has created sustained success under head coach James Franklin, bringing in several diamonds in the rough who went on to develop into NFL stars after training under his staff. Perhaps the best example has been Dallas Cowboys linebacker and former first-round pick Micah Parsons, who appears confident that his alma mater has found the next great player in four-star athlete Mehki Flowers.

After spotting pictures of Mehki Flowers moving into his dorm at Penn State, Micah Parsons made sure to go out of his way to boost the hype around the future star’s arrival.

“Congrats lil bro,” wrote Parsons on Twitter. “Penn state nation show him some love!! He’s up next!! 717! #Weare  #Begreat!!!”

Flowers played both wide receiver and safety at a high level in high school, turning himself into the No. 5 athlete in the country, according to the 2022 On3 Consensus. He also ranked No. 186 overall player and No. 5 in his home state of Pennsylvania. Unlike Parsons, Flowers will have the opportunity to profit off his name, image and likeness with an On3 Valuation of $25,000 thanks to his 16,100 followers.

Micah Parsons returns home.

Dallas Cowboys young star Micah Parsons received the key to his home city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for the second time, for a hilarious reason. Parsons is from the city of Harrisburg and played college football less than 100 miles away at Penn State. His love for the area and their love for him led to Parsons receiving the keys to the city after he was drafted by the Cowboys last year.

On Tuesday, Parsons was given a second key to the city because of a simple and embarrassing reason — he lost the first one.

In a ceremony held at the MLK City Government Center in Harrisburg, Parsons was awarded the keys to the city — again — by Mayor Wanda Williams. The special moment for Parsons is another in a line of amazing experiences he has experienced since his breakout NFL season. He received the key to the city the first time when he was selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft by former Mayor Eric Papenfuse.

Both Parsons and Flowers come from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, although they attended rival high school. If the hype provided by the current NFL star comes to fruition, there could be another key to the city in line for the incoming freshman over the next few years.
