Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep four-star athlete Edwin Joseph is taking his official visit to Penn State this weekend for the Nittany Lions’ game against Central Michigan. It looks like he is enjoying his time in State College so far.

Joseph posted a picture with wide receivers coach Taylor Stubblefield on Friday night. He recently told On3’s Chad Simmons that Penn State’s coaching staff is making him feel like a priority.

The 6-foot-0, 171 pound prospect is the No. 524 overall prospect and No. 24 athlete in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also a three-star recruit and the No. 97 player in Florida.

On3 rates Joseph higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is a four-star recruit, the No. 264 overall prospect and the No. 10 athlete in the country. He is also the No. 53 player in Florida.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Miami has a commanding lead for Joseph’s commitment at 97.6%. However, the Florida native has a lot of interest in the Nittany Lions.

“I’m looking forward to feeling like a priority, feeling a home away from home in Pennsylvania,” Joseph told Simmons. “There’s been a couple times I went to a school and I felt like, ‘I’m just here right now. Yeah, I’m not really their priority.’ So just feeling like a priority up there is going to be great.”

Joseph also shared that he is close with Penn State’s coaching staff. The four-star added that he feels “home” with the Nittany Lions.

“The coaching staff, they’re not just recruiting me,” Joseph said. “They’re recruiting my parents too. They’re talking to my whole family because they got to talk to my parents. They gotta talk to them because my mom (wants to) know where (she’s) sending her kid to in the next four years. It’s also just about how they talk about football and life after football, because football(‘s) not forever. They talk about life and things other than football. Family, school, especially school, and stuff like that.”

Edwin Joseph On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Edwin Joseph:

“Two-way starter at corner and wide receiver whose ball skills shine on both sides of the ball. High point ability and natural hands jump off the screen. Very comfortable pass catcher. Shifty with the ball in his hands who can make tacklers miss in a phone booth. Excellent hip fluidity. Impressive change of direction and ability to stay in phase at corner. See the physicality shine more on offense than defense.

“Tough to bring down as a ball carrier and is a willing tackler but not overly violent or ferocious. Projects as a quality cover corner with excellent ball skills on defense. Strong Z or slot receiver on offense who can paper cut defenses in the intermediate and underneath passing game. On the younger end of the spectrum for the 2023 recruiting class.”

Joseph has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.3K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
