There is a new leader in the recruitment of Miami (Fla.) Central four-star defensive lineman T.A. Cunningham, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Penn State now sits atop the RPM for Cunningham at 84.5%.

Blue-White Illustrated’s Sean Fitz entered an expert prediction in favor of Penn State with a 60% confidence level. On3’s Josh Newberg also entered a pick with a 60% confidence level for Penn State. The Nittany Lions overtook Miami in the RPM. Georgia now sits in a distant second with a 2.1% likelihood.

Cunningham officially visited Penn State in June after previously visiting State College in the spring. He will commit on July 22 and recently announced a top-five of Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas A&M.

“Penn State is definitely the place to become a great football player but also a better man,” Cunnigham told BWI after his lone official visit. “Coach [James] Franklin and coach [Deion] Barnes believe in me in a special type of way.”

Prior to taking his official visit to State College, Cunningham told On3 what he is looking for when making his college decision.

“I’d say a school’s development and the way they develop players, who they put into the league and the recovery aspect,” Cunningham told On3 in May about what he is looking for in a school. “I’m not a guy who is big on facilities, lights and whistles. The recovery stuff and those things are important to me.”

Penn State currently holds the nation’s No. 10 class

James Franklin’s staff has put together one of the country’s best recruiting classes in the 2024 cycle as we’ve reached the midway point of July. The group is headlined by top-100 recruits Belle Vernon (Pa.) athlete Quinton Martin and Westford (Mass.) Cheshire tight end Luke Reynolds.

The Nittany Lions’ sole July commitment belongs to Philadelphia (Pa.) Monsignor Bonner four-star EDGE Mylachi Williams, who joined the class on July 8.
