Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass three-star interior offensive lineman Demeco Kennedy has committed to the Purdue Boilermakers.

Kennedy announced his commitment on social media Thursday afternoon. He took an official visit to Purdue after visiting unofficially in March. Other June official visits included trips to Illinois and West Virginia, with other unofficials to Louisville and Kentucky.

He is the nation’s No. 1006 overall prospect and No. 81 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in Kentucky.

Kennedy does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound Kennedy was named to the 2022 Kentucky High School Football All-State Championships Team as an offensive lineman.

Kennedy adds to top-30 Purdue class

Kennedy joins a Purdue class ranked No. 28 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 8 in the new 18-team Big Ten. The class includes four blue-chip prospects in Cincinnati (Ohio) La Salle four-star cornerback Koy Beasley, Lake Dallas (Texas) four-star wide receiver Keonde Henry, Midland (Texas) Lee four-star quarterback Marcos Davila and Naperville (Ill.) North four-star safety Luke Williams.

Along the offensive line, Purdue holds commitments from Kennedy, Fort Wayne (Ind.) North Side three-star offensive tackle Jordan King, Carroll (Ohio) Bloom-Carroll three-star interior offensive lineman Jaden Ball, Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek three-star interior offensive lineman Max Parrott and Horn Lake (Miss.) three-star offensive tackle John Randle.
