Rutgers Wrestling All-American Yaraslau Slavikouski entered NCAA transfer portal, On3 confirmed. The Harvard graduate wrestled this past season with the Scarlet Knights and became an All-American for the first time.

He has one year of eligibility left as a graduate transfer. He’ll look for his third and final home for college wrestling for the upcoming season.

After finishing 7th at the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships, Slavikouski alluded to returning to Rutgers for the 2024-25 campaign.

“That’s the plan,” Slavikouski said. “Right now, I’m finishing a Master’s in supply chain analytics in one year then I’ll try to do a Master’s in financial analysis next year.”

Slavikouski finished 22-8 in his lone season with Rutgers. He is 82-22 in his career and qualified for NCAAs in 2023, getting to the Blood Round with Harvard.

He also qualified in 2020 for the Crimson, but the tournament was canceled amid the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Education seems paramount for Slavikouski, who seeks a second masters degree.

“Looking back, it’s crazy, but you get used to it,” Slavikouski said of coming over from his native Belarus. “I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without the help of my brother. He’s the reason I was able to come to the United States to pursue not only my wrestling career but get my degrees. It’s crazy, it’s been a long journey but it’s not over yet. I’m just grateful for all of the people who have been around me.”

To keep up with the latest players on the move, check out On3’s Transfer Portal wire

The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.

The process of entering the portal is done through a school’s compliance office. Once a player provides written notification of an intent to transfer, the office enters the player’s name in the database and everything is off and running. The compliance office has 48 hours to comply with the player’s request and that request cannot be refused.

Once a player’s name shows up in the portal, other schools can contact the player. Players can change their minds at any point and withdraw from the portal. However, once a player enters the portal, the current scholarship no longer has to be honored. In other words, if a player enters the portal but decides to stay, the school is not obligated to provide a scholarship anymore.
