Southern Miss star running back Frank Gore, Jr. made waves last year when he stepped in and threw four touchdown passes for the Golden Eagles. On Thursday night against Louisiana-Lafayette, he showed that he can spin the rock yet again, beautifully tossing a 52-yard touchdown pass to his receiver, Ty Mims. He hit Mims in stride deep down the field as he completely torched his defender. Once Mims caught the pass from Gore, it wasn’t long before he was in the end zone.

The touchdown strike put Southern Miss up 13-2 with 4:34 remaining in the first quarter. Gore is of course, the son of legendary former NFL running back, Frank Gore.

Mims hauled in 69 receiving yards and a touchdown on Thursday night. The leading receiver for Southern Miss was Jason Brownlee, who hauled in three grabs for 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Coming into Thursday night’s game against Louisiana-Lafayette, Gore had 116 carries for 568 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
