Roselle (N.J.) Catholic four-star shooting guard Simeon Wilcher has committed to St. John’s, his father told On3.

The 6-foot-4 senior de-committed from North Carolina earlier this month after being committed to the Tar Heels since Oct. 15, 2021 and signed since last November. Following Wilcher’s departure, UNC’s 2023 recruiting class now ranks No. 10 in the 2023 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the ACC. The Tar Heels’ group currently contains two high school recruits in five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau and four-star power forward Zayden High. Hubert Davis and crew also landed a handful of commitments from players in the transfer portal, including Harrison Ingram from Stanford, Cormac Ryan from Notre Dame, Jaelyn Withers from Louisville, and Paxson Wojcik from Brown.

Wilcher is the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 6 shooting guard in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in New Jersey.

Wilcher Scouting Report

“This season Wilcher has played with a sense of fearlessness. He has a good frame and is an athletic, aggressive downhill scorer. Wilcher has played a lot as the primary initiator this high school season, but he is wired to score. He has a nice pull-up jumper that can get streaky – but still a threat – from beyond the arc. Wilcher has upside as a defensive stopper. Would like to see him survey the floor better with the ball in his hands and shoot it more cleanly when off the ball. Wilcher has the natural tools you cannot teach and things seem to all be coming together for him this high school year.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

On3 NIL Valuation

Simeon Wilcher’s current On3 NIL Valuation is $89,000. This valuation currently ranks Wilcher No. 81 in the On3 high school basketball NIL Ranking.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college-level athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a specific moment in time.

The On3 NIL Valuation is comprised of many dynamic data points that focus on three primary categories: social media, athletic performance, and endorsements and collectives.
