Salt Lake City Corner Canyon three-star linebacker Bo Tate has committed to Stanford. He chose the Cardinal just one day after his decommitment from Baylor.

Tate also held offers from the likes of Oklahoma State, Arizona State, California and Washington State.

He is the No. 1023 overall prospect and No. 95 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Utah.

Tate does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Stanford owns No. 5 2024 recruiting class in ACC

With Tate now committed, Stanford’s 2024 recruiting class contains 26 commits and ranks No. 31 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. It also ranks 5th in the ACC and checks in ahead of the likes of NC State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh and Duke.

Headlining the class is Toronto Avon Old Farms four-star defensive lineman Benedict Umeh, the No. 110 overall prospect and No. 13 DL in the 2024 cycle. He pledged to the Cardinal on July 8, choosing it over Penn State, Wisconsin, and others.

“The academics were the biggest thing. My family holds academics in the highest regard so it was really hard to say no to a school like Stanford,” Umeh told On3 upon his commitment. “Having confidence in the football program also played a huge role, Stanford has a great coaching staff right now and looks set to do big things in the coming years. Not to mention the development I would be getting under Coaches Ross K and Bobby April III.”

Right behind Umeh is Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star quarterback Elijah Brown, a rising prospect in the 2024 cycle, now checking in as a top-200 recruit and the No. 12 gunslinger in the cycle.

“It’s an amazing school and I believe the new coaching staff is going to really change things,” Brown told On3.

Other top commits for Troy Taylor and the Cardinal include: Red Bank (N.J.) Catholic four-star wide receiver Emanuel Ross, Miami Christopher Columbus four-star EDGE Dylan Stephenson and Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic four-star WR Emmett Mosley.
