Four-star EDGE Dylan Stephenson of Miami (FL) Christopher Columbus High announced his commitment to Stanford Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-5, 240 pounder chose the Cardinal over Florida State, Illinois, and Auburn.

Stephenson on why he chose Stanford

“The connection with the coaches and the academics. It was a place I knew I could grow on and off the field. I believe in Coach Taylor’s vision, and I think Coach Aprils is a proven coach in developing outside linebackers and getting them to the next level. Overall I just wanted to follow my own path!”

Relationship with staff + their plan for Stephenson

“Primarily DC/OLB, Stephenson said. “Coach Bobby April has been in contact almost daily and played a huge role up to this part. They plan on using me as a stand up outside backer off the edge and dropping into coverage here and there. I like to say I’m the Apex Predator of the defense!”

The Sunshine State EDGE joins coach Troy Taylor and the Cardinal Top 40 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by three-star wide receiver Emanuel Ross, three-star linebacker Brandon Booker, and others.

Stephenson ranks as the No. 196 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 15 EDGE and the No. 31 player in the state of Florida.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $76K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
