Temple (Texas) four-star athlete Mikal Harrison-Pilot is announcing his commitment on Jan. 7. Before Harrison-Pilot reveals a decision, TCU is working hard to land his pledge.

After taking an official visit to Fort Worth last week, Harrison-Pilot hosted offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Garrett Riley and outside wide receivers coach Garrett Riley for an in-home visit. Riley recently won the Broyles Award, given to the top assistant coach in college football.

TCU is the team to beat for Harrison-Pilot, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The RPM gives the Horned Frogs a 64.3% chance to land Harrison-Pilot’s commitment.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

A 5-foot-11.5, 185-pound recruit, Harrison-Pilot has an On3 NIL Valuation of $132K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Mikal Harrison-Pilot On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Mikal Harrison-Pilot:

“Do-it-all player that has played quarterback, running back, wide receiver and safety over his three seasons at Temple High School. Measured around 5-foot-11.5, 185 pounds with a 6-foot-4 wing-span prior to his senior season. A three-sport athlete who plays baseball and also ran 11.02 in the 100 meters and 21.63 in the 200 meters in 2021. Fluidity and smoothness in his movements pops off the tape. An easy mover with looseness in his hips.

“Has solid ball skills as a pass catcher and flashes the ability to high point the football. Shows his physicality when coming downhill in the run game and as a ball carrier. Needs to develop his footwork and hand placement in coverage. Has all the physical tools to play offense or defense at the next level but will need to refine his technical skills once he lands on either side of the ball.”
