Former TCU shooting guard Micah Peavy has found a new home in the transfer portal. He’ll be playing for the Georgetown Hoyas next fall. Peavy made the announcement on Saturday night via his Instagram page. He averaged 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game this year, bringing home honorable mention All-Big 12 honors.

Peavy said he chose Ed Cooley and the Hoyas over offers from Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, and Creighton, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

Peavy managed to pull of just the third triple-double in TCU program history with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists against Arizona State. A dynamic defender, he tallied three or more steals in a game five times, including a season-high four against Texas A&M Commerce.

TCU finished with a 21-13 overall record this year, losing in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament to Utah State, 88-72. In that game, Peavy scored seven points in 29 minutes, only connecting on 3 of his 11 shots from the field. He also grabbed seven rebounds. Utah State had four players score in double figures. JaKobe Coles led the Horned Frogs in scoring with 19 points. Emanuel Miller also scored in double digits for TCU (13 points).

TCU’s biggest win of the season was without a doubt, against the Houston Cougars, a 68-67 stunner. Emanuel Miller hit a game-winning layup with 6.7 seconds left in that one to lift the Horned Frogs to victory.

He stuffed the stat sheet with a double-double against the then No. 1 Houston Cougars on March 14th, 13 points and 11 rebounds. During his junior campaign (2022-2023), he played in 30 of 35 games, making eight starts. Peavy averaged 7.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. He was also named to the All-Tournament in the Emerald Coast Classic after averaging 12 points and 8.5 rebounds to lead TCU to the title.

Peavy spent his freshman season with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, starting in 25 of 29 games, averaging 5.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

Peavy is a former four-star recruit and was the No. 40 overall player in the nation from the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
