Four-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby of Camden (NJ) Winslow Twp High announced his commitment to Texas A&M Saturday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 202 pounder chose the Aggies over Penn State.

Hornsby on why he chose Texas A&M

“The thing that stood out with Texas A&M over everyone was the support that I have out there. Although it is far from home I have teammates from my area that are out there and thriving right now. I know that when I get there they will be like my big brothers and lead me in the right direction. Also the relationship I have with the coaches all the way up to coach Jimbo is amazing. Coach Elijah and I are family and he’s been looking out for me ever since he started recruiting me. The offense is going to be amazing this year. I believe in everything coach Pettrino is doing with the offense. Texas A&M is going to be special and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“The coaching staff is amazing. My relationship with everyone is great and genuine. I am closest with coach Elijah Robinson. He and my family go way back. We are from the same area and he has taken me under the wing ever since he started recruiting me. He and I talk all the time, I can call him about literally anything. I’m excited to have him on this journey with me. In the offense I’m an outside receiver that can be moved around to anywhere. They are looking for a big wide record to go and make plays and that’s what I’m here to do.”

The Garden State wide receiver joins coach Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies’ top 15 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star wide receiver Drelon Miller, four-star defensive lineman Dealyn Evans, and others.

Hornsby ranks as the No. 417 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 72 wide receiver and the No. 7 player in the state of New Jersey.

On3 ranks him higher than the industry, as he ranks as the No. 50 wide receiver and the No. 6 player in New Jersey.

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
