Jimbo Fisher believes Le'Veon Moss had a lower body injury, surgery not needed

Final Thoughts For Week 10

The Texas A&M Aggies came up short on the road Saturday against the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels took down the Aggies 38-35, dropping them to 5-4 this season. On top of that, Texas A&M suffered a handful of injuries, most notably one to running back Le’Veon Moss.

After the game, in the postgame press conference, Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher discussed the injury Moss suffered, revealing that, while the lower body injury looked bad, it would not require surgery to repair.

“I think it was just a twisted lower body injury,” said Fisher. “They didn’t think it was anything surgical, but something that could be a week. I don’t know; it could be a couple of days, (or it) could be a week. We’ll have to wait and see. I don’t think it’s surgical, but it was a legit thing. And that’s a shame; he was running really well.”

Moss was having a solid game before exiting with the lower body injury in the third quarter. He finished the game with nine carries for 52 yards and one of the three Aggies rushing touchdowns. While his injury didn’t allow for him to help Texas A&M pick up their sixth win of the season, according to his head coach, it does not appear to be a significant injury. And that is great news for Texas A&M, who will need Moss in the games to follow, including their week 11 matchup against Mississippi State, as they attempt to lock up a bowl game bid for 2023.

Chris Low jokes about Lane Kiffin, Jimbo Fisher relationship, potential solution

The two have a unique relationship, to say the least, and that adds to the intrigue of Saturday afternoon’s matchup.

To ESPN’s Chris Low, who knows both coaches well, he jokingly offered a “solution” during an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show.

“Let’s get one of these octagons together and put them both in the octagon and let them go at it,” Low joked. “I’d say both would probably enjoy that. Of course, I’m being a little facetious.”

Kiffin raised some eyebrows this week when he talked about Texas A&M’s “NFL roster” in what some saw as a shot at Fisher. The Aggies missed out on a bowl game last year despite bringing in the top-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to the 2022 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking, and enter Saturday’s game with a 5-3 mark. Kiffin congratulated Texas A&M on the “collection of talent.”

Of course, Kiffin is no stranger to having some fun at other coaches’ expense, as Low pointed out. That’s especially evident in the fact that Ole Miss is 7-1 and ranked No. 10 in the first College Football Playoff rankings while Texas A&M is trying to get bowl eligible.

Add in the Aggies’ struggles on the road, and it allowed Kiffin to continue his fun, trolling ways.
