On Saturday Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher made it clear where he stood on the rumors involving him and LSU. But on Wednesday, the Aggies head coach had to clarify what he meant on Saturday when he had to deny the rumors again.

LSU’s head coach vacancy remains one of the hottest jobs in the college football coaching carousel. A plethora of names have been thrown around for the Tigers, none more than Fisher. On Wednesday during the SEC Football Head Coaches Teleconference for week 12, had this to say about his comment saying he would be the “dumbest person” to leave the Aggies for the Tigers.

“It doesn’t mean that. Listen, I want to clarify. LSU is a wonderful place, but we’re doing great things here and we’re recruiting very well,” Fisher began. “We’ve got great classes coming and everything else, that’s my point. I wouldn’t want to play against all these guys I’m signing right now. There’s no disrespect to LSU in any way shape or form, but I love being at A&M.

“I love everything that’s here, what we’re doing, what we’re building, and what we’re recruiting. And that’s why I plan on being here for a long time. … I saw a headline on that yesterday, somebody said I said that. I didn’t say that. They kinda conveniently left out the other part of the headline. I was just trying to clarify. I wanted to get that clarified on the record.”

Doesn’t matter the day of the week, Fisher’s answer remains the same

When addressing the rumors on Monday, Fisher doubled down on him staying at Texas A&M. He even joked with the media members saying he knows they do not trust him.

“I’ve told everybody I am staying here and I’ve told everybody I plan on being the coach at A&M,” Fisher said. “Everybody thinks all coaches lie, I know. I know y’all don’t believe us. That’s why we don’t trust y’all, so we’re even. Whatever we say is not off the record. I’m joking.”

Going back to his previous comments about the job, Fisher repeated everything he has already said about Texas A&M. Essentially, he and his family are more than happy living in College Station.

“I said the other thing. I plan on being here, I love the AD, I love the president, I love the chancellor, I love living here, I love being at my ranch, the family loves it here, I love the people, I love Kyle Field, I love all of that stuff,” Fisher continued.

Fisher closed out his statement by tripling down that he will be A&M’s head coach for the foreseeable future.

“I plan on being at A&M, I want to be at A&M, I don’t want to be anywhere else, I love being right here,” Fisher said.
