Jimbo Fisher provided some insight into the availability of quarterback Haynes King for Texas A&M on Wednesday.

King was injured late in the game against South Carolina over the weekend, appearing to tend to his shoulder. He was replaced by true freshman Conner Weigman in the game and did not return, but the sophomore quarterback should be back in action this weekend against No. 15 Ole Miss after the brief injury scare.

During Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference, Fisher stated that King looks “well” and should be available for Saturday’s game.

“Haynes, his shoulder has recovered very well. Looks very well. Moved well, threw well. As far as his rehab stuff and what he did, I say you’re always banged and bruised up around this time of the year. He’ll be available for the game.”

Evidently, Haynes King should be ready to roll come Saturday for the Aggies’ SEC showdown with Ole Miss. After three straight losses and four on the season, King will be hoping to get Texas A&M off the ground and capture a victory for Jimbo Fisher and company.

More on Haynes King, Texas A&M offense

Texas A&M has had a bit of a revolving door at quarterback this season, with three different passers getting work at various points.

King started the season before he was benched in favor of LSU transfer Max Johnson prior to the Miami game on Sept. 17. Johnson started three games before suffering a broken bone in his hand against Mississippi State on Oct. 1.

That thrust King back into the starting lineup.

King has gone 81-of-142 passing (57.0%) for 941 yards and six touchdowns this season. He has also thrown six interceptions. Johnson had logged a 43-of-71 passing (60.6%) stat line, posting 517 passing yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Now King will have to try to steady the ship again working behind a severely depleted offensive line.

Texas A&M currently ranks No. 87 nationally in passing offense, No. 105 in rushing offense, No. 108 in total offense and No. 109 in scoring offense.
