An unidentified LSU player completely leveled a Texas A&M fan who was rushing the field after the Aggies’ 38-23 upset of the No. 5 Tigers. The fan was knocked to the ground hard enough to where his hat flew off his head.

There are two ways to look at this. One, everything was happening so fast, neither the LSU player nor the TAMU fan were looking where they were going. Or two, that player was just aggravated from losing and took his frustrations out on whoever was in front of him.

It isn’t likely the player will get into any trouble, if at all. The SEC’s “access to competition area” policy – the one that requires fines for field rushing – does not permit fans from being on the field at any time, and in the rule book, the fan is in the wrong for simply being on the field in the first place.

For the safety of participants and spectators alike, at no time before, during or after a contest may spectators enter the competition area. It is the responsibility of each member institution to implement procedures to ensure compliance with this policy,” the policy states.

Unless more footage is released showing the situation more clearly, the situation is likely to be swept under the rug. No statement from either team has been released as of this report.

Jimbo Fisher proud of character Texas A&M showed in upset win over LSU

Not many people gave Texas A&M a chance on Saturday night against LSU. Brian Kelly’s team was going to be playing in the SEC Championship next week while Jimbo Fisher had seen six straight losses in the SEC. But that’s why you play the game, as the Aggies pulled off an incredible upset at Kyle Field.

Fisher spoke highly of the character his team had throughout the game, admitting it’s been a tough go in College Station. Even so, he is proud of how Texas A&M pulled through and is happy to send the seniors off in winning fashion.

“Listen, we haven’t gotten the results we wanted,” Fisher said. “But I always say adversity reveals your character. And no matter what, we practiced hard every day, we came to play every day. A lot of character. Happy for those seniors to take them out right and for the future of what we can do and we can get the results we want. A lot of character in these kids.”
