Four-star interior offensive lineman T.J. Shanahan took his official visit to Texas A&M on June 17th. It marked his sixth trip to College Station in just over a year. Following multiple expert predictions, Shanahan has an 94.4 percent chance of committing to the Aggies on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine,. The RPM gives Texas A&M a commanding lead over LSU (2.3 percent) and Georgia (1.3 percent), the locations of Shanahan’s other official visits.

On3’s Tim Verghese wrote that Shanahan is planning to travel back to College Station at the end of July after his successful official visit with the Aggies.

“The four-star has gelled well with Jimbo Fisher and offensive line coach Steve Addazio and was able to build relationships with some current and former players, like Jalen Wydermyer, who sold the program well,” Verghese wrote. “In addition, Texas A&M offensive line commit Colton Thomasson has been a vocal peer recruiter, pitching (a) fellow Central Texas prospect on teaming up in College Station.”

Shanahan told On3 National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton that he sees himself as an “SEC-type player” and that relationships will be a large factor in where he decides to commits.

“I just think it’s all about relationship,” Shanahan said. “I feel it’s kind of like the biggest thing to me. I feel like every school has nice facilities and a lot of nice things to offer but I think at the end of the day, the relationship is what matters most.”
