Texas A&M star Henry Coleman went down with an apparent injury during the first half of Saturday’s game against FAU.

Coleman was able to return to the bench late in the first half. However, he did not start the second half for the Aggies.

It appears as though he is out for the game, per the ESPN2 broadcast.

“Texas A&M starts the second half with [Solomon] Washington on the floor. No Henry Coleman. It doesn’t look like we’re going to see Henry for the remainder of this game,” analyst Corey Alexander said.

Henry Coleman went down after scoring a bucket late in the first half. He stayed down for several moments, before eventually walking off the floor under his own power.

Coleman walked to the locker room, before eventually returning to the bench. He did not re-enter the game in the first half.

The senior averages 15.4 points and 10 rebounds per game. He scored 8 points in the first half, prior to the injury.

Texas A&M played FAU tough for the first half and trailed 46-44 at the break. However, FAU started pulling away in the second half. The Aggies entered Friday’s game with a 5-0 record, including wins over Ohio State and Penn State.

Henry Coleman played in all 35 games last season, making 31 starts. The Virginia native averaged 9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 2022-23.

ESPN breaks down what loss of Henry Coleman means for Texas A&M

Texas A&M looked like a different team to start the second half with Henry Coleman out of the game.

ESPN explained just how big the loss is for the Aggies after FAU started the second half on a 16-3 run.

“Texas A&M only 1 of 5 [in the second half]. They’re missing a huge [piece]to what they do, especially offensively,” analyst Corey Alexander said. “Henry Coleman III, who was 4 for 5 in this game for 8 points, unable to go here in the second half after a first half injury. And that makes you have to play completely different.

“Also, when you’re FAU, you guard differently. Now you’re able to tighten up on Wade Taylor, on Tyrece Radford, a couple of guys who had very good first halves shooting the basketball. You can pay them way more attention without Coleman on the floor.”

Aggies coach Buzz Williams should provide an update on Coleman after the game. Everyone is hopeful the injury won’t be serious.
