Andy Staples and J.D. Pickell break down what would be Texas A&M's Potential Nightmare Scenario

It appears as though Texas A&M will be without receiver Micah Tease for at least the foreseeable future.

Tease has been suspended by Texas A&M indefinitely, according to Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle. Zwerneman reports that Tease was arrested Friday on drug charges.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Micah Tease was charged with possession of a controlled substance and for having less than two ounces of marijuana.

Tease is a freshman who committed to the Aggies last December. He was ranked as the No. 210 overall player in the country for the class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

Texas A&M opens the season on Saturday when it hosts New Mexico. Texas A&M is a 38-point favorite for Saturday night’s game.

Tease had a stellar career at Booker T. Washington High in Oklahoma, prior to signing with the Aggies. He finished his high school career with 2,025 all-purpose yards. The 6-foot, 180-pounder was also an excellent defender in high school, finishing his career with five interceptions.

As a senior in 2022, Tease recorded 821 receiving yards, while averaging 27.4 yards per catch. He also had nine touchdowns as a senior.

Jimbo Fisher: ‘The portal was very good for us’

While Micah Tease signed with Texas A&M out of high school, the Aggies also went to the transfer portal to booster their roster.

Earlier this week, Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher discussed the 2023 transfer classes’ massive impact.

“Some of our transfer portal guys affected our rooms as much as the guys on our teams, in a good way,” Fisher said on ‘The Jimbo Fisher Radio Show.’ “From their attitudes, demeanor, work ethic and giving, the portal was very good for us.”

It’s a bold take. From the numbers alone, Texas A&M suffered significant losses in the portal this offseason. In total, the team added 13 players while losing 31. The team picked up just two four-star recruits despite losing three four-star prospects.

Further, the Aggies only added nine former three-stars, while losing 22 of them. While the numbers aren’t a healing sight for Texas A&M fans’ sore eyes, Fisher is happy with the offseason outcome.

“The guys we got, they’re making a difference not only with their abilities but their infectious desire to compete,” Fisher said. “Some guys just love to play ball, and it’s infectious. They love to work out, they love to go to things, and they’re always projecting positive energy. They’re people you want to be around.”
