Usually, there is not a ton of headlines coming out of the SEC Spring Meetings but this is not an ordinary week. Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher set the world on fire by both making comments about one another. Saban sent out the first shot before Fisher fired back the following morning over Texas A&M‘s 2022 recruiting class.

While the feud still seems to be lingering, Fisher is ready to move on.

Both head coaches are in Destin and Fisher spoke to the media for the first time on Wednesday. Fisher said he and Saban spoke before meetings began yesterday. While they did not clear the air over the comments, both are done discussing it.

“It’s over with, we’re done talking about it,” Fisher said via On3’s Jesse Simonton. “We have a lot more pressing needs than our arguments.

“Put a bow on it,” Fisher later said. “Double-knotted.”

While Fisher and Saban may not have fully buried the hatchet, both seem ready to move on from the feud and begin focusing on the “pressing” issues. The future of the SEC is currently being discussed at Spring Meetings and the conference prepares to add two new members.

Other topics such as an intra-conference transfer portal deadline has been a topic of conversation along with how the schedule will look in a few years’ time. Commissioner Greg Sankey talked to both coaches before as well but said everyone knew how to behave themselves in Destin.

Neither coach will have previous comments at the top of their mind going forward. The offseason will roll through before actual football is where most of the tension in the SEC comes from.

Nick Saban clarifies thoughts on Jimbo Fisher during SEC Spring Meetings

When speaking on the subject, Nick Saban clarified that he didn’t think that he said anybody did something wrong, and that he should have kept individual names and schools out of his comments.

“I didn’t say anybody did anything wrong,” Saban said, via Rodak. “I’ve said everything I’m going to say about this. I should have never mentioned any individual institutions. I’ve said that before.”

Following Saban’s comments on and Texas A&M, Fisher had an extremely strong response. The Aggies coach called Saban a “narcissist,” among many other things. But later on in his clarification

“I have no problem with Jimbo, I have no problem with Jimbo at all,” added Saban.
