What looked like an innocuous enough hit eventually led to Texas A&M tight end Max Wright getting stabilized and stretched off the Aggies sideline before being taken by ambulance to the nearby Auburn Medical Clinic, according to SEC Network sideline reporter Cole Cubelic. It is being done as a precaution, Cubelic added.

Wright caught a pass late in the second quarter and was tackle in space. He got up, struggled to steady himself, then went down to a knee. He eventually made it to the sideline medical tent under his own power. From there, apparently medical staff didn’t like what they were seeing from Wright.

“Got into the medical tent and some of the trainers, some of the doctors didn’t like what he was telling them. So they stabilized him out of precaution. He’ll got to the Auburn medical center, standalone medical center three miles away,” Cubelic said.

Later in the game, the SECN broadcast reported that Wright had returned to the stadium since leaving on a stretcher and was watching the game from somewhere — presumably the Aggies locker room.

A fifth-year tight end, Wright was having his most productive season to date, appearing in seven games and catching eight passes for 111 yards and a touchdown prior to Saturday night.

Texas A&M began the game without running back Devon Achane

Ahead of the matchup against Auburn on Saturday night, Aggies star running back Devon Achane was seen in a walking boot. Obviously, he’s the biggest playmaker on the Texas A&M roster, so his loss for tonight’s matchup would be absolutely massive. He was expected to be out for Saturday night’s game against the Tigers, as TexAgs.com’s Billy Luicci reported he was likely out. Kickoff for the game is slated for 7:30 PM EST.
