Texas A&M has been on a run lately as the Aggies have quickly assembled a top-15 class over the last two months. They landed a five-star in wide receiver Cam Coleman on July 4 and another five-star prospect could be headed to College Station soon.

Following recent industry updates, Texas A&M is the heavy favorite to land a pledge from Timpson (Texas) five-star athlete Terry Bussey. The Aggies’ chances currently sit with a 94.5% chance to land a commitment from Bussey according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

“Texas A&M has made Terry Bussey feel like a priority from early in his recruitment and the Aggies are the team to beat,” On3’s Chad Simmons wrote earlier this month. “He has family in Louisiana and he took official visits to Oklahoma and Texas in June, but Texas A&M is still the school setting the pace. Bussey is expected to take his recruitment into the fall and he will take an official visit to College Station in the coming months.

…LSU could be another school to receive an official visit. All are chasing Jimbo Fisher‘s progtam at this stage.”

The 5-foot-10.5, 180-pounder is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 2 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Texas.

Terry Bussey currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $245K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Texas A&M back to form on the recruiting trail

After landing a historic class during the 2022 recruiting cycle, Texas A&M fell short of of that mark last cycle finishing with the No. 15 class in the country. That group also only finished with 19 signees.

Things in College Station seem to be back on track now though. Along with being the favorite for Bussey, Texas A&M went from having a top-20 class to being just outside of the top-5 within a matter of weeks.

Currently the Aggies sit 18 pledges in their 2024 class. The group ranks as the No. 7 class in the country and No. 4 in the SEC. Along with Coleman, the No. 3 wide receiver in the country, Texas A&M has a pair of two other top-100 pledges in defensive lineman Dealyn Evans and wide receiver Dre’lon Miller.

Beaumont (La.) Beaumont United four-star offensive tackle Weston Davis is ranked just outside of the top-100 but is ranked as the No. 20 player in the 2024 On300.
