Micah Hudson commits to Texas Tech! | Red Raiders & Joey McGuire land the no. 2 WR in America

It’s another huge weekend for recruiting in College Station, as Texas A&M gears up for an anticipated tilt against Alabama at Kyle Field on Saturday afternoon.

Many elite prospects are going to be in attendance, including one of the top players in the 2024 cycle that’s currently committed to another Lone Star State program. Temple (Texas) Lake Belton Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver and Texas Tech commit Micah Hudson is taking an official visit to Texas A&M this weekend, according to AggieYell’s Landyn Rosow.

Hudson is the No. 6 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He committed to Texas Tech on Sept. 11.

This is Hudson’s seventh documented trip to College Station, with his last dating back to the beginning of the year in January. Texas and Oklahoma were also involved in his recruitment, though the Red Raiders were long considered the favorite before he pledged.

“They’re ready to work and they don’t put on any faces. It’s the same every time I go there, and even though I’m a good player and don’t care about a lot of that stuff, they’ve been the same way since they offered me,” Hudson told On3 of Texas Tech upon his commitment. “This new staff just has fun. I can have fun and can be myself. I never feel uncomfortable there. I don’t feel four hours away … I feel like I’m at home.”

Hudson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $352K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
