Jasper (Texas) four-star tight end Kiotti Armstrong set a pair of spring visits to Texas A&M earlier this week. Before making those trips back to College Station, the top-100 prospect has also decided to lock in an official visit with the Aggies.

Armstrong announced on Wednesday via social media that he’ll take his OV to A&M from June 13-15. That’s now scheduled to follow trips on March 30 and April 6. Mike Elko and the new Aggies staff continue to make the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder a priority.

“I like Coach Elko and the new staff,” Armstrong told On3. “I like how they told me they think I can keep developing and I can do anything on the field. They think I can line up out wide, in the wing, a two-point stance, all of it.”

Armstrong has already made one trip to College Station this year, as he was on campus for a Junior Day in February just before the beginning of the dead period. He’s wasting no time getting back once recruiting season picks back up.

“It’s not Jimbo’s world anymore,” Armstrong said. “Some head coaches make it about them, but at A&M, it’s more about the players… I think I can do pretty much what I do in high school there, but develop more and do more at A&M.”

Texas and Miami have also had Armstrong on campus thus far in 2024. He’s also locked in a March trip to LSU and a return trip to see the Longhorns in April. There’s plenty of competition for the four-star, but A&M is certainly near or at the top of Armstrong’s recruitment entering the spring.

Armstrong is the No. 93 overall prospect and No. 3 TE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 16 player in Texas.

Aggies building powerful in-state recruiting class

There’s never a shortage of top talent in Texas, and Elko is following suit by pushing hard for top in-state talent, as all four of A&M’s 2025 commits hail from Texas.

The Aggies picked up commitments on back-to-back days to round out January. First, Forney four-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins pledged, choosing A&M over Georgia and Tennessee. Katy Paetow four-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway committed 24 hours later and now headlines the quartet of pledges as the No. 157 recruit and No. 21 CB in the cycle.

“Coach Elko said I am by far and away the best DB they have watched in a while,” Pettaway told On3 after a visit to College Station. “He also told me that I can make an immediate impact in their program and I can lead A&M to something big in the future.”

Last week, DeSoto four-star running back Deondrae “Tiger” Riden became the latest to commit to A&M, adding another top-250 prospect to the fold. He checks in as the No. 15 burner in 2025. Spring Legacy three-star interior offensive lineman Joshua Moses rounds out A&M’s class, as of Feb. 28.
