Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Timberview four-star cornerback Jordan Sanford has committed to Texas Tech. He chose the Red Raiders over programs including Michigan, SMU and Washington.

Sanford, a 5-foot-10, 183-pound recruit, is the No. 268 overall prospect and No. 31 cornerback in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 47 player in Texas.

On3’s rankings rate him even higher as the No. 197 overall prospect and No. 22 cornerback in the 2023 On300. On3 also ranks him as the No. 35 player in Texas.

Texas Tech is now up to 24 commitments in its 2023 recruiting class, which contains four four-stars and 20 three-stars. The Red Raiders have the No. 26 class in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings earlier today following Sanford’s commitment.

Sanford is currently the second cornerback pledge in Texas Tech’s class alongside Shreveport (La.) Captain Shreve three-star Macho Stevenson. The Red Raiders also have two other defensive back commits in Mansfield (Texas) four-star safety Brenden Jordan and Burleson (Texas) Centennial three-star safety Chapman Lewis.

Only one Texas Tech commit — Post (Texas) four-star EDGE Isaiah Crawford, the No. 158 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus — is ranked higher than Sanford. Texas Tech’s other four-stars are Jordan and Humble (Texas) athlete Tyrone West.

Sanford has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.2K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Jordan Sanford On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Jordan Sanford:

“Fluid corner prospect who blankets receivers with his hip fluidity and instincts to run receivers’ routes for them. Productive player who made his presence felt in the run game as well as a junior. Totaled 34 tackles, 7 passes defended and 2 interceptions during his junior season. Lacks ideal arm length but has a compact build for the corner position. Stands in at 5-foot-10.5, 185 pounds with a 6-foot-1 wingspan. Track speed shows on tape as he is able to run with any receiver on the field. Ran an eye-popping 10.55 100m paired with an equally impressive 21.74 200m during his junior track and field season. High floor prospect who will undoubtedly produce takeaways at the college level with NFL draft upside off athleticism alone.”
