After being committed to LSU for well over a year, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star wide receiver Joseph ‘JoJo’ Stone reopened his recruitment on Oct. 17.

The 5-foot-10.5, 175-pounder took three official visits in June, the first of which was with UCF. Now, Stone is returning to Orlando for an unofficial game visit this weekend, he announced.

Stone is the No. 346 overall prospect and No. 60 wideout in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 37 player in Georgia.

UCF head coach Gus Malzahn has had plenty of success recruiting the Peach State throughout his career. Current Knights Javon Baker, Kobe Hudson and Jordan McDonald all hail from the Atlanta area, as does defensive coordinator Addison Williams.

“They’re doing their thing and they’re performing on the field and being dogs,” Stone said of UCF back in May. “They come from the same place I come from. They’re showing you can do it there. They’re some of the first to do it.”

LSU still has the lead for Stone in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), but another team pushing for his pledge is Louisville. The Cardinals received one of Stone’s other June OVs and On3’s Josh Newberg has logged an RPM selection in favor of the ACC program landing the blue-chipper.

Stone has an On3 NIL Valuation of $62K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Joseph Stone Scouting Summary

“Versatile athlete who plays a number of positions for perennial Georgia power, Grayson High. Plays quarterback, running back and wide receiver at Grayson. Shows good agility and adequate play speed with the ball in his hands. Has worked out as a wide receiver on the camp circuit, but could also project as a defensive back at the next level. Shows a good feel for working in space as a ball carrier. Has grown over an inch since his sophomore year, now checking in around 5-foot-10.5, 180 pounds. Does not have many athletic testing numbers to speak of, and ran track as a sophomore with a personal best of 11.70 seconds in the 100 meters. Has some genuine positional ambiguity that should be hammered out moving forward.”
